Don’t Use Snooze
If you want to start getting up on time, you have to stop using the snooze alarm. That extra few minutes of sleep doesn’t really help you feel more rested during the day. No matter how good it feels to defy your alarm and hit that button, it’s not worth sinking back into the pillow instead of facing the day. Even worse is when you hit the button multiple times and end up cutting your morning prep time in half. Just say no to snooze!
Put Alarm Across the Room
Instead of putting your alarm clock in a convenient bedside location, set it across the room, so you are forced to get out of bed and walk across the room to turn it off. It’s a foolproof way to get your behind out of bed on time in the morning. You might not be happy, but you’ll be up!
Go to Bed Earlier
In order to get up feeling rested in the morning, you need to get enough sleep. If that means going to bed earlier, then that is what you need to do. If you are always waking up tired and are struggling to get out of bed, try going to bed a little earlier and see if that helps.
Quality of sleep is just as important as quantity of sleep. Be sure your bed and pillows are comfortable so that your body is getting proper rest at night, otherwise you might wake up feeling like you barely slept at all. Other tips are to sleep in a dark, quiet room set at the perfect temperature for you to sleep.
Jump Out of Bed
You don’t actually have to jump out of bed like you are in a cartoon, unless you want to of course, but the idea is to get out of bed and get moving as soon as your alarm goes off, every day. Don’t lay around lazily thinking about how much it sucks that you have to get up. It will be tough at first but pretty soon you will train your body and mind to pop up in the morning and get going faster.
